Michael L. Salgaller, Ph.D., Chief Operating Officer, comes to Calibrant with over 20 years scientific and business experience in therapeutics. Before joining Calibrant, he was on the investment team at Toucan Capital, a venture firm focused on early-stage life science investments. Prior to Toucan Dr. Salgaller was Vice President of Clinical and Research Affairs at Northwest Biotherapeutics, a publicly held cancer therapeutics company, where he lead the development of their vaccine platform. He has held a variety of senior management positions in biotechnology, and led a number of translational and clinical projects. He served as Senior Staff Scientist at the National Institutes of Health, and has consulted for various bio-pharma companies and disease foundations. Dr. Salgaller earned a PhD in Pathology from The Ohio State University, and was awarded a Biotechnology Fellowship at the National Cancer Institute. |

Satya P. Saxena, Ph.D. brings 20+ years experience in defining novel research concepts and implementing innovative proteomics technologies essential to the success of contemporary biomedical research. Before joining Calibrant, Dr. Saxena served as Chief of Proteomics at the National Institute on Aging, National Institutes of Health (NIH). While at NIH, he established the agency's initial foray into protein-based biomarker and drug target discovery to age-related diseases. Prior to the NIH, he played a key role in the development of statewide proteomics infrastructure in the State of New Mexico and University of Manitoba, Canada. Dr. Saxena received his Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry/Toxicology from All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, India. He conducted his post-doctoral work at the Biomedical Research Centre in Vancouver, Canada and the Manitoba Institute of Cell Biology in Winnipeg, Canada. |
